Bio (continued):

Corbin turned pro with much fanfare on January 15, 2009. Currently, Corbin resides in Phoenix, Arizona and is trained by the great Jeff Mayweather out of Richard Steele Boxing Club in Las Vegas, Nevada. One of the top welterweight prospects in boxing today, Corbin has overcome a difficult upbringing and beat all the odds to become a fighter that most see as a future world champion.

On August 28th, 2009 Corbin got the chance to fulfill those predictions when he made his pro‐debut in Tucson, Arizona at El Cantina Ballroom. In spectacular fashion, he defeated Michael Gallegos by technical knockout in the 3rd round. Corbin officially weighed in at 145 ½ lb.

On December 5th, 2009, in Mesa, Arizona, Chase Corbin defeated Antonio Ortiz by 1st round technical knockout. Corbin officially weighed in at 147 lb.

But the real story of Chase Corbin began years ago on the tough streets of West Philadelphia, where a young man did what he felt he needed to do to survive in the face of daily life. At a very early age, Corbin was the man of the house, taking care of his 3 sisters. His father was not around and his mother was working day and night to make ends meet. “I was a good student. I loved school, but I used to fight a lot on the street. I did some things that I am not proud of. I was wild. I was angry. I just wanted to be a young kid. Taking care of the home was a lot of pressure.” Unfortunately, the decisions the young Corbin made led him to community service at the age of 16. Ironically, his community service entailed cleaning boxing gyms. To make a long story short, he's been training ever since.

Life's Work:

Corbin wants to be a positive role model and help develop a sense of self worth within troubled youth in the community. He looks forward to becoming highly involved in the Phoenix community, and dedicating much of his time to charitable organizations and projects.

Cultivated Other Interests:

Corbin leads an extraordinarily active life. Boxing is his profession, but he has lots of other passions. Corbin loves the game of basketball, reading books, listening to music, working out, and watching movies.
